Lennie Rosenbluth was born January 22, 1933 in the Bronx, New York.  After graduating from high school in NY he attended Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, Virginia.  In 1957 he led the University of North Carolina Tar Heels to a perfect 32-0 record.  At 6'5" Rosenbluth averaged 27.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game during that undefeated season.  The Helms Hall of Fame named him the "Collegiate Player of the Year", over Kansas's Wilt Chamberlain.  The University of North Carolina defeated Kansas that year, 54-53 in three overtimes, to win the National Championship after winning the semi-final game the night before in three overtimes over Michigan State.  He scored 20 points in the final game and was named to the All-Tournament Team.  The National Championship was played on a Friday night and the following Saturday night then and is now played on Saturday night and the following Monday night.  He was named the ACC Male Athlete of the year in 1957.

In 2002 he was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary Men's Basketball Team as one of the fifty greatest players in Atlantic Coast Conference History.  He is in the Helms College Basketball Hall of Fame, the U.S. Jewish Hall of Fame and the NYC Basketball Hall of Fame.  His accolades and awards include:  Three-time All American selection (1955- 57); Three-time All-ACC (1955-57); 1957 ACC Player and Athlete of the Year; MVP of the '57 ACC Tournament and All-Tournament at three Dixie Classics.

He was selected by the Philadelphia Warriors in the first round of the 1957 NBA draft and played for them from 1957-59.
