Andrea Blanchfield is a 2010 graduate of Furman University, Greenville, SC, where she recieved the Furman University Strings Scholarship and earned a Bachelor's degree in Music under the tutelage of Anita Burroughs-Price, principal harpist with the North Carolina Symphony. She has been playing the harp for over 12 years and has been performing professionally for 8 years.  She has a strong background in Music Theory, Form and Analysis, Music History, and Music Technology. Andrea has been the principal harpist for the Furman University Symphonic Orchestra, Furman University Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. She has also been a member of the Furman University Harp Ensemble. Prior to her collegiate training Andrea was the principal harpist for the Triangle Youth Philharmonic (TYP) and Triangle Youth Symphony (TYS) for four years. 

Andrea has experience playing Liturgical music in the Daniel Chapel located on Furman's campus. She has particpated in the "Celebration of the Arts" program in McAlister Auditorium as the Fine Arts Representative. She enjoys playing for weddings of all religious backgrounds, as well as, rehearsal dinners, wedding showers, anniversaries, receptions, Corporate events, charity events and nursing homes.

Andrea loves to volunteer and help out the community. She also has experience in giving private lessons. She is willing to teach beginner to intermediate level harpists in the Grandjaney technique.
